Jungle Island This 18-acre garden, located on Watson Island, offers a horticultural treasure that is home to more than 1,100 tropical birds, a variety of exotic animals from all over the world and more than 2,000 varieties of plants and flowers. Ancient Spanish Monastery Built in Segovia, Spain in 1141, the Monastery Cloister is the oldest building in the Western Hemisphere. Newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst had the entire monastery dismantled and shipped to Miami in 1925. (30 – 45-minute drive)
Biscayne Bay and Star Island Boat Tours If the luxurious lifestyles of the celebrities and musicians on MTV’s Cribs peaks your interest, then Island Queen Cruises and Biscayne Lady Yacht Charters are the type of daytime fun you won’t want to miss. (20-minute drive)
